I love the way you honk my nose when I sing you to sleep, how you pawn off your broccoli to the dogs during happy hour, the way you smile at the moon as if he’s your old friend, and how you follow birdies as they dance across the sky. I love your love for blueberries, your eight little teeth, your full head of hair, your monster belly, Mr. squishy cheeks, and those big, curious eyes that want to take in the whole world.

I adore your giggles at sneezes and coughs, your cheerful little smile, and your level of content whenever we are outside.

I’ve traveled the world searching for a sense of purpose and fulfillment—never realizing it would arrive once you were in my arms. You’ve reminded me how beautifully simple life can be, that the little smallest moments, hold the biggest truths; that joy isn’t found; it’s created.

You’ve brought endless joy into our lives, and I thank God every day for the blessing that is you.
